The Space Between

The Space Between, situated on the edge of the silicon docks in Dublin, is a space for yoga and meditation, and home to a dedicated teashop. The space resides in a former coach-house, and doubles as a gallery and event space. The design scope covers a reception area, tea shop, changing rooms, an atrium and two yoga studios.

The intention was to create a secular environment, that naturally sends people inwards; instilling a sense of calmness and grounding through the visual and physical elements in the space.

The driving design concept was the idea of savasana; the final resting pose at the end of a yoga flow. As you lie still on the ground and your breath slows, you have an incredible feeling of calmness; it’s here where your practise can drift into a meditative state. In this pose although one can drift away, theres an amazing sense of grounding and strength in your body as the floor holds you.
